CMAL Milk-run project team receive the P/O from the auto manufacturer and develop a pick-up plan for the shipments, design the route and process, dispatch the vehicles accordingly, pick up the relevant parts from the supplier on behalf of the manufacturer, arrange transport and delivery, and trace and monitor the shipments status on the way in real time. The advantages are: it can split the transportation charges and improve the vanning rate of the transportation vehicles, optimize the inventory held by suppliers and the auto manufacturer, reduce the losses in quality, improve the visibility, availability and controllability of supply parts, to realize Just-In-Time delivery. At present the Milk-run service covers more than 90 suppliers in the areas of southwest China, south China, central China, east China, north China and northeast China, and the yearly output is over 15,000TEU.
